So much has happened since March...  Let' see, there were the guitar and bass tracking sessions for Susan Egan's new CD (Christopher McGovern producing!!); a bunch of shows playing Brasilian music (bass and guitar) with Elin at B-3; a show with Chad Hollister in Wilmington, DE;  a show backing up Jessica Domain with the all new KMA All Stars;  some more tracks for 13 Hallucinations of Julio Rivera (new play with music by William Whitefield); a demo session for a new Broadway hopeful with Gary Friedman and Stevie Holland;  MANY gigs on the Bateaux NY (20+);  a trip to Sao Paulo, Brazil with Debbie Friedman;  a Caribbean-style show in Long Island with Roy Ramos and Island Sol;  tracking a song for this year's Windham Hill Christmas compilation with Randy Crafton and Sal over at Kaleidoscope;  next week to D.C. with Debbie Friedman;  oh yeah... and I moved to New Jersey (see new contact page).

The coolest new thing going on, though, has been the Monday Night Jam at KMA Studios.  It's the Rhythm Section Du Jour for any kind of project - singer/songwriters, film, club/dance mix, jam, classic R&B/Soul, rockin' blues, standards, etc - this is fast becoming an important hub of NYC musicians.  You never know who's gonna' show up!  So much personality, great vibe, Top Shelf musicianship...  The possibilities are endless!  The 'core' has become:  Mike Kissel (gtr, vox), Patrick Pfeiffer (bass), Ivica Simatovic (keys), Bern Pizzitola (gtr, vox), me (gtr, bari gtr), Charlie Blass (prc, vibe), and a few different drummers - Craig Haynes, Billy Ward, Michael D'Agostino, Phil Bloom, Ben Arons, Benny Koonyevsky, Tobias Gebb, etc...  Some special guests so far have been Jimmy Norman, Lady Kier, Carlos Alomar, a couple guys from Sun Ra Arkestra - and we've only been doing this since March!  LOTS more to come form that...

Next up:  This June the 21st will be my first release of a completely solo guitar recording.  It will be released all over Japan on Ajima records, and will be a collection of my arrangements of the music of Rinken.  When I get back from promoting it over there I'll have many pics and stories to report, so stay tuned!
